As I delve deeper into my cassette collection, there are a few variants - items that are quite similar to ones I've posted here before, but not identical. Today it's another version of an Italian reissue, with a couple of notable differences to a previous post.
 

The reissue - ie the one with the "54" cat.no, which replaced the earlier edition with the cat.no starting with 3C - came in a couple of variants. This one has a clear cassette shell with black on-body print. The J-card is 1-panel, printed on one side, although replicating the print from the 2-panel version I posted before. And although it's simply guesswork on my part, I do think this edition came after the white one.



So there you have it, kind of an interim post today, but I hope you like it!

This one I think comes from the United Arab Emirates - I'm not sure, as it doesn't say anywhere on cassette or J-card where it was manufactured, but Thomsun Original is known to be a U.E.A. label. And again, I'm just assuming the cassette was not issued in connection with Kraftwerk's record label or representatives, I have no way of knowing for sure. It would surprise me if Kraftwerk had sanctioned the release though, with the "Thomsun Original" logo scrawled across the front cover and jumbled running order of tracks... This blog explores the art of collecting through the medium of cassettes.     RALF & FLORIAN (1975, USA) Vertigo VCR4-2006   When Kraftwerk suddenly had an international hit record, the demand presented itself for more product. With the band committed to touring duties, the choice stood between waiting for new music, or re-releasing some of their previous records. I've previously touched on the mass / mess of compilations of early tracks that followed in Autobahn's wake, but I haven't featured any of their first three albums on the blog before, so here's an American 1975 edition of Ralf & Florian. Arguably the best of the early albums, and the most natural pre-decessor to Autobahn, Ralf & Florian was recorded in the summer of 1973 at a number of different studios, with Conny Plank as enigineer; after he was credited with co-production of the two first albums, one wonders what happened to his role on this one.
