HITS (Poland, 198?) Unofficial
HiTs H135

I have not forgotten the Polish pirate cassettes! Feels like it was a while ago since I featured one here, but there are plenty of them, and as I've said before, they're often interesting, even if "interesting" means "ridiculous" at times...

I was tempted to list this as "Kraftwerk", or even "Untitled", as "HiTs" is apparently the name of the label. However, that's what it says on the front, so I'll go with that - I suppose the confusion is a selling point? I mean, you look at the front, it says "Kraftwerk" and "Hits", you will assume it's a best-of compilation, right? Anyway, this is a compilation of tracks from different sources, and opens with the most known song from the 80s - "The Model", which was their biggest song in the charts in the UK, and which always received a rapturous response from live audiences on the 1981 tour.

The front cover has a stretched (?!) photo of the band from the inner sleeve to the "Man Machine" album, and this compilation has nearly all of that album (omitting only Neon Lights). These are scattered about, with Spacelab and Metropolis finishing the selection - Metropolis surprisingly fades out after 4:20 (and no, the tape is not running out, there would have been room for all of it!) Electric Cafe gets two tracks; the full album version of Der Telefon Anruf and Sex Object, only the title track off  Computerwelt, and Trans-Europe Express is prepresented by its title track and Showroom Dummies. (The language confusion is not mine, btw - they must have had some German and some English CDs to choose from!)

The J-card is 2 panel, on thin glossy paper, printed on one side. The afore-mentioned band pic is set against a plain white background with black lettering and a blue "HiTs" ribbon. Inside, the track list also gives credit to the songwriters for each song, and the track lengths from the original albums (except they actually corrected the edit of "Showroom Dummies"). Labels, as usual in Poland, do not mention what's on the cassette, only the record company name.
